In 2006 Erica Mitchell was awarded a 4-year tuition scholarship to University of North Florida for her successful participation in the Jacksonville Jaguar Honor Rows program through the Journey Into Womanhood Program.

Participants in the Spring of 2007 collected over 230 new undergarments for a clothing drive for Dignity U Wear to benefit underprivileged children. In return JIW youth were able to decorate the program director in a toilet paper dress.

JIW participants with the most points from program were awarded tickets to the Lion King in the Spring of 2007.

In 2004, JIW participant Iva Ballou was the girls inc. alumni of the year.
Laws of Life national Essay winners: Nikki Young- first place, Charla Hamilton- third place, Erica Mitchell- fourth place and Kaila White-honorable mention.

Opportunity to meet and greet Alicia Keys for the Super Bowl and attend the Super Bowl youth clinic where youth had the chance to interact with NFL players and listen to life lessons.
UNF/NFL “girls going places” entrepreneur workshop.
College tour to FSU, FAMU, UCF, Clark, and Spellman.
Attend the Willie Gary College fair in the fall.

In December, JIW has their group community service project, the “Mayor’s Holiday Festival”. All youth are required and encouraged to give back to the community by volunteering.
